Welcome to our November Climate Corner!

November 6, 2025

Every month we offer suggestions for small behavior changes to support sustainable living on Planet Earth.

As the winter holidays near, we are especially mindful that consuming less is a good way to reduce burning fossil fuels in the making, transporting, and eventually disposing of the things we buy. Our November climate-friendly suggestion is to buy less. You might also choose one week this month to limit purchases to groceries and other necessities.

In stressful times, buying things may help us feel better in the short term. Finding comfort in community and acts of gentle care for ourselves and others may help us feel even better, and sitting with a stressful mind in meditation can really help.

Individual actions matter for the environment because we do them with many others and working with desire supports us on our shared Buddhist path. Let’s buy less together, for the sake of all beings.
