Thank you to our morning meditation leaders
A great gift to our Sangha was started some years ago. During Covid, a KCC Meditation group was born via Zoom from 7 am to 7:45. It has been sustained up to our present time, with thoughtful leaders each day of the week except on Sundays. Sometimes it is the first step for a new person exploring Buddhism or KCC. It has truly become a backbone of our dharma offerings!
We want to appreciate and name the current people showing up regularly to offer this opportunity to others. Peter Wood has mentored many through the idiosyncrasies of Zoom; Cynthia Irvine, Erik Fromme, Debra Elisa Wohrmann, Bonnie McLean and Kay Hartsock. Judatha Kline and Kaaren Borsting appear frequently as substitutes along with Sonia Arion, when a leader’s life interrupts them doing it. Recently White and Green Tara have been added as a Zoom event every Monday, hosted by Ani Tsultrim (as well as Lama Eric). Thank you all SO much.
There are also many from the past who have provided this lead, and the most recent was Usha Noble (others include Carolyn Peck, Rosemarie Sweet, Bob Wilson and more). Let’s thank them too.
Many of you reading this have joined in for a session in the past few years. So, you know what a steady form of meditation practice it is. Each lead person brings their own dharma experiences, giving a short bit of guidance to warm the way into meditation. Let’s also appreciate the Zoom hosting role each of the leaders provides. The technology of Zoom is essential and can offer its own challenges. Daily and consistently for years, the Meditation has thrived.
Cynthia has contributed a huge amount by coordinating the whole effort and gently nudging new people into this role. What a gift she is to us all! She also works closely with long-time teachers who have consistently led: Erik Fromme who leads from Boston with its time zone difference and Peter Wood who usually leads from his Portland living room but recently has experienced an interruption for health considerations. Peter, we wish you a speedy recovery. Two other one year retreatants lead; Kay Hartsock who has led for years now, rarely missing a Friday and Bonnie McLean, who recently took on the role. Deborah Elisa Wohrmann brings nuggets of words and ideas to inspire all who attend.
We thank you all so deeply for keeping this essential dharma practice vital 6 days a week!
