KCC’s Strategic Plan 2024-2029
Dear Sangha:
The KCC Board is happy to share the approved Strategic Plan for 2024-2029.
This plan is the result of a two-year planning process. In early 2022, three community input sessions were conducted as a first step. The board hired a consultant who, guided by a Strategic Planning Committee, used these inputs as a starting point to further define, validate, and prioritize issues. The consultant conducted community listening sessions, focus group interviews, individual interviews and led a Strategic Planning retreat in May 2023 with Board members, the Strategic Planning Committee, and several KCC staff members.
A small writing team (Liza Baer – Executive Director, Jennifer Chang – Board Co-President, and Lama Eric Triebelhorn – Resident Lama) used the Consultant’s report to write a first draft that aimed to balance the capabilities of the staff and community and reflect the values and priorities articulated by the KCC community. KCC Staff, Service Group Leads and Board Members reviewed the draft and provided invaluable feedback during the October 2023 Leadership retreat.
There are four pillars to the strategic plan:
Pillar One – Programming: Curriculum, study, practice
Pillar Two – Community: Inclusive, participatory, connected
Pillar Three – Retreat Center: Integrated, stewardship, fiscally sound
Pillar Four – Finances: Diversification, development, sustainability
As you delve into the details of the strategic plan, we invite you to envision your role in KCC’s future. Your contributions are key to help KCC thrive as a home for the Dharma by offering high-quality practice and retreat experiences to all.
For the Dharma,
KCC Board of Directors
