Sati Sangha’s Review of their SCOL Retreat

July 15, 2024

KCC’s retreat center Ser Cho Osel Ling was recently used by an outside sangha. Here is their review:

“It had been a long time since our last in-person retreat, and we were really looking forward to gathering face-to-face. Since many of our members are in the Pacific Northwest, we were particularly pleased to have found a place near Portland. We really didn’t have any expectations other than a chance to be together as a sangha.

What we found was a beautiful, secluded and well established home for practice. The beautiful land and the clearly marked trails beckoned us on walks that really added to the retreat experience.

We felt especially welcomed by the retreat center staff. Wilder and Vicky were fantastic — extremely supportive, anticipating our needs, and yet discreet, giving us our space. Anything we needed or wanted, they found a way to accommodate. The meals were tasty, nutritious and beautiful. The yogi jobs gave us a way to contribute, and Wilder and Vicky were wonderfully reassuring with their kind instructions and assistance.

The Dharma Halls in which we did our practice and group interviews were beautiful spaces and a very good size for our group. The individual sleeping rooms were spacious and the beds remarkably comfortable. The staff was great about accommodating our needs

We hope and plan to return next year, and are eagerly looking forward to being at SCOL again.”
