Native Plant Work-Party at SCOL – October 21, 2023
Love getting your hands in the dirt and helping the environment? Come to SCOL for the day on Saturday, October 21, spend the night, or stay the weekend. As part of the land stewardship strategy at SCOL, KCC members have over the years planted native vegetation to restore human-disturbed areas of the property. For this work party we will concentrate on planting and transplanting flowering native plants in our two cloisters and in front of the main building. We will start at 10am, work until noon, have a Fall Harvest potluck, work for a few hours in the afternoon, and have plenty of time to enjoy the land and each other. Plant and forest experts from the OSU Master Naturalist Program may be joining us to share their knowledge.
Accommodation: if you would like to stay the night on Friday and/or Saturday, single and double cabins are available at no charge (bring your own bedding and towels). We ask you to provide your own food for all meals, shared dining areas and kitchenettes are in each cloister. Bring your favorite autumn vegetarian dish, salad, or dessert for the Saturday potluck.
