Enthronement of Yangsi Bokar Rinpoche and Offering Opportunity
On November 22, 2024, 18-year-old Yangsi Bokar Rinpoche will be formally enthroned as the reincarnation of Kyabje Bokar Rinpoche Chökyi Lodrö in a ceremony at Bokar Monastery in Mirik, India. In 2015 he was recognized as the tulku (reincarnated lama) of the former Bokar Rinpoche (1940-2004) who was a renowned meditation master, Karma Kagyu lineage holder, and the head of the Shangpa Kagyu lineage. The previous Bokar Rinpoche was an important teacher to many in the KCC sangha, including Lama Eric, and he served as KCC’s spiritual advisor for nearly a decade.
Lama Eric will travel to Bokar Monastery to attend the enthronement on behalf of KCC. Not only did Lama Eric study, practice, and live at Bokar Monastery from 2004 through 2019, he was also the young Bokar Rinpoche English teacher and playmate-in-chief for the initial five years after Rinpoche’s arrival.
KCC will make an offering to Bokar Monastery on behalf of the KCC community. If you would like to contribute to KCC’s offering, this fundraiser will be open until 30 Sept 2024 with 100% of the proceeds going towards the donation to the monks, nun, and support staff of Bokar Monastery.
