This is a wonderful opportunity to spend meaningful time with the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Ogyen Drodul Trinley—the head of the Karma Kagyu lineage. It is hard to overestimate any connection with the Karmapas, so certainly accepting his invitation to join him in offering prayers and aspirations for the benefit all beings, the world, and especially for the swift pacification of the Covid-19 pandemic is an occasion not to be missed.

Though early for those on the west coast, it is actually important to undergo a bit of difficulty to practice the dharma. The prayer book can be downloaded from our website, here: Aspirations to End Adversity.

This is also an excellent opportunity for many of us to broaden the scope of our practice. For many Buddhists in the modern world, the value of reciting sutras and prayers for the accumulation of merit is under-appreciated. May we all joyously employ all the various means of merit accumulation.

It is my hope that everyone who receives this message will seize this auspicious opportunity!
