SCOL Work Party July 2026
This past weekend we held a work party out at SCOL to give the cloister cabins a fresh coat of paint. About twelve people made it out to the land, some staying for a night, others for two, with a mix of longtime KCC supporters and folks new to the community. Although fires had been burning in the gorge earlier in the week, Saturday opened into blue skies with only faint plumes of smoke on the horizon.
The weather was hot, so we began painting at 8:30am on Saturday and wrapped up early for a shared lunch and time on the land. It was a lovely chance to wander among the flora and fauna, enjoy hiking around the property, reconnect with old friends, and make some new ones, too. Lunch was a delicious spread of lasagna, salad, pasta, and a very well‑received cobbler brought in by a sangha member.

A heartfelt thank‑you to everyone who offered their time and energy to help move these important, and often time‑consuming, projects forward, and to all who have supported SCOL over the years. And a special thanks to Bruce for coordinating the effort! What a joy to spend the day together in such a meaningful way.
