Passing of Lama Michael Conklin
On behalf of Lama Michael’s family: his wife, Tara Sullivan, Elizabeth, and Seamus; Kagyu Changchub Chuling; and Dekeling, we would like to let you know that Lama Michael died peacefully in the early hours of the beautiful spring morning of Thursday, April 30th, at his residence in Washington. To all who have held him in prayer and practice in his life and in the last few days, thank you.
Kyabje Khenchen Rinpoche, Kyabje Bokar Rinpoche, Lama Lodu, Lama Tsang Tsing, and many other lamas and spiritual friends have been notified and are offering practice on his behalf. All are welcome to contribute to Lama Michael’s skillful navigation of the bardo by making offerings, reciting aspiration prayers, and dedicating any acts of virtue to him.
In the coming days and weeks, we will be in touch about opportunities to gather for practice and shared celebration. Watch your inbox for further communications and invitations.
Lama Michael lived a life devoted to his own and others’ awakening. All of you are direct or indirect recipients of his invitation to step into the stream of teachings conveyed by authentic teachers in an unbroken lineage of transmission. What good fortune!
Lama Lodu Rinpoche, Spiritual Director of Kagyu Droden Kunchab (KDK) in San Francisco, has also shared his reflections on Lama Michael from their time together at KDK. Click here to read them.
