Item 1: Sitting Rock Buddha (Sumi ink and encaustic) by Jef Gunn
The “Sitting Rock Buddha” is an encaustic painting with sumi ink by Jef Gunn – a longtime KCC member and an artist working in Portland Oregon.
“Sitting Buddha, big open mind” is how Jef describes the 12″ x 12″ painting of a triangular scrap of concrete construction debris that he has transformed into an image for contemplation.
Item 2: Sukhasiddhi (art print) by Tara Sullivan
Tara Sullivan is a beloved long-time sangha member who had a long career as a commercial artist. She met Sanje Elliott when she came to KCC and took thangka painting classes from him. Sanje encouraged Tara to focus on Sukhasiddhi and Niguma as subjects resulting in these dharma-inspired paintings.
The winner can order a print of this painting in either 12” x 8” or 13” x 19” size.
Item 3: Niguma (art print) by Tara Sullivan
Tara Sullivan is a beloved long-time sangha member who had a long career as a commercial artist. She met Sanje Elliott when she came to KCC and took thangka painting classes from him. Sanje encouraged Tara to focus on Sukhasiddhi and Niguma as subjects resulting in these dharma-inspired paintings.

Item 5: “Faces of the Himalaya” — Six Photographic Notecards by Eric Triebelhorn
Eric Triebelhorn captured these images in 1998 during his first trip to India and Nepal. The images are:

In 2019, Dora DeCoursey and Bill Spangle made a pilgrimage to Kham (Eastern Tibet). They visited the Garze region – the homeland of Kalu Rinpoche who inspired the founding of KCC in 1976. All over Kham, the land was filled with expressions of the Dharma, such as this large Buddha carved into rock along a well-traveled road. Dora took this photo near the historic town of Dege. The winner can order a print at either 8” x 10” or at 4” x 5”.

In 2019, Dora DeCoursey and Bill Spangle made a pilgrimage to Kham (Eastern Tibet). They visited the Garze region – the homeland of Kalu Rinpoche who inspired the founding of KCC in 1976. In 2019, Dora DeCoursey and Bill Spangle made a pilgrimage to Kham (Eastern Tibet). They visited the Garze and Yushu regions of Eastern Tibet – areas that have been home to many great masters and monasteries of the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions. Bill took this photo at a new red Stupa above the Mekong River in Nangchen, Yushu. The winner can order a print at either 8” x 10” or at 4” x 5”.

In 2019, Dora DeCoursey and Bill Spangle made a pilgrimage to Kham (Eastern Tibet). They visited the Garze region – the homeland of Kalu Rinpoche who inspired the founding of KCC in 1976. The land was filled with expressions of the Dharma, such as this prayer flag “tent”. This photo was taken near Palpung, a major Kagyu monastery, and Jamgon Kongtrul’s retreat center, Tsadra Rinchen Drak, where Kalu Rinpoche did three year retreat and served as retreat master. Item 10: Mustang Pilgrimage – 6 Photographic Notecards by Linda Besant
In 2011, Linda Besant had a rare opportunity to trek in Mustang, an isolated region that borders Tibet in the north of Nepal. Her experience in this almost entirely Tibetan Buddhist culture motivated her to take refuge at KCC later that year.
