Children’s Program
On the second and fourth Sundays of each month, from 9:00 to 11:00 am, we offer the Sunday Morning Children’s Program. This program normally starts in September and runs through the second Sunday in June. In July and August we meet once a month on the fourth Sunday. We require that at least one parent or guardian be present at KCC when their child attends.
Shamatha Meditation – AM
The foundation of Buddhist meditation is Shamatha, a meditation that develops stable attention which serves as the essential underpinning of all other meditation practices. At the beginning of each session, brief instruction to the practice of Shamatha will be given. After a one-hour session and a 10-minute break, there will be a teaching or question-and-answer […]
Newcomers Session
All are welcome to attend this session to learn more about KCC and the programs offered here. This event has moved from Thursday evening to the Second Sunday of each month following the morning meditation and discussion.
Shamatha Meditation – PM
At the beginning of each session, brief instruction to the practice of Shamatha will be given. After a 45-minute session, there will be a teaching or question-and-answer period with participants.

Thursday Silent Sit
A silent sit is offered on Thursdays, from 11:00 AM to noon, hosted by members of the sangha at KCC. A bell will ring at noon to close the session, and anyone who’d like to stay for a brown‑bag lunch is warmly welcome.
Living the Wisdom of Lojong: A Course in Applied Mind Training
This group offers an opportunity to explore the classic Buddhist teachings known as Lojong, or “mind training.” In this new cycle, we’ll place special emphasis on practice and integration. Together, we’ll reflect, discuss, and apply these aphorisms, bringing their wisdom into the challenges and opportunities of modern life.
