Come enjoy the Columbia Gorge in bloom! SCOL hosts work parties several times a year to serve together on major projects. These are opportunities to meet in a more informal setting, socialize, and complete tasks needed to operate our retreat facility and a property of this size.
In KCC’s 50th anniversary year, we will honor our connection to both the dharma center’s founder, Kalu Rinpoche, and his successor, Bokar Rinpoche, by practicing Milarepa’s Guru Yoga and Feast in their honor.
Vipashyana practice is an analytical approach to meditation, but not in an ordinarily intellectual sense. As Traleg Rinpoche says, these investigations are “designed to cut through to the very heart of things—to pave the way for a direct insight into the very nature of ultimate reality itself…"
On the second and fourth Sundays of each month, from 9:00 to 11:00 am, we offer the Sunday Morning Children’s Program. This program normally starts in September and runs through the second Sunday in June. In July and August we meet once a month on the fourth Sunday. We require that at least one parent or guardian be present at KCC when their child attends.
Families take note! You are invited to join other families for a weekend of fun at KCC’s retreat land, Ser Chö Ösel Ling, near Goldendale, WA. Who may attend? Families of any configuration, especially those with children through high school age.
