The foundation of Buddhist meditation is Shamatha, a meditation that develops stable attention which serves as the essential underpinning of all other meditation practices. At the beginning of each session, brief instruction to the practice of Shamatha will be given. After a one-hour session and a 10-minute break, there will be a teaching or question-and-answer period with participants.
On the Fourth Sunday of each month, join us after the morning practice to help clean and tidy the urban center. With a list of cleaning tasks, a volunteer helps coordinate this swift and thorough dust bunny round up. Thank you for helping to keep our practice space clean!
Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative style of yoga that invites stillness and deep release. Rather than flowing quickly from one pose to the next, Yin encourages you to linger—holding postures for three to seven minutes at a time. This gentle yet profound approach allows the stretch to reach beyond the muscles, into the body’s deeper connective tissues such as fascia, joints, and ligaments.
At the beginning of each session, brief instruction to the practice of Shamatha will be given. After a 45-minute session, there will be a teaching or question-and-answer period with participants.

Join us for a peer-led book club reading Thrangu Rinpoche's Everyday Consciousness and Primordial Awareness. Wednesday before Chenrezi, followed by a brown-bag dinner.
The practice of Chenrezi — the embodiment of the compassion of all the buddhas — is an excellent introduction to yidam practice of vajrayana Buddhism.
