Tara Dance
May 11, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Teacher: Phyllis Moses
For those that are curious: The Mandala Dance of the 21 Praises of Tara is based on a Tara practice (sadhana) by Chogyur Lingpa and has been honored and acknowledged by Tai Situ Rinpoche (the Lama that suggested to create an organization 38 years ago: www.taradhatu.org) and HH Dalai Lama (who invited the Dancers to come offer it and teach in Dharamsala many years ago), as well as many other esteemed teachers and Lama’s. These are simple movements that anyone can learn, no experience necessary, open to all. It’s a beautiful stand alone practice that helps us deepen into our Sacred Nature and embodying our practices. Traditionally ‘Cham’ (Sacred Dance) has been a vital aspect of these precious lineage teachings as a way to integrate Body, Mind, Spirit and give rise to our inherent Joy!
I extend an invitation to come together as sangha – friends on the path of Awakening. We gather as a way of concentration of our intention to manifest wisdom, compassion, and power for our community, which always starts with ourselves opening to and ripening these qualities within. This is a wonderful way to nurture our spiritual growth, and in truth it nurtures all those we are connected with. We are generating countless blessings, as we have been told by various lamas and even H.H. the Dalai Lama himself when the Mandala dance was offered to him in 1987. I just got back from retreat and traveling out of the country, so although it didn’t work to have the usual ‘4th Sat’ – I needed to choose the best date, so I hope this works for you!
