However, On Sunday evening (June 1), Ani Tsultrim will lead Green Tara practice at the Portland Center in-person only (no Zoom), at 7pm. People can gather for tea and snacks at 6:30 pm.

Sunday evenings are ZOOM ONLY.

To attend an evening Shamatha practice session:  A red “Connect to Zoom” button will appear near the bottom of this event page 15 minutes prior to each session (i.e., Sunday at 6:15pm). Please refresh your window if it is not appearing. If you are still having trouble, please email for assistance.

The foundation of Buddhist meditation is Shamatha, a meditation that develops stable attention which serves as the essential underpinning of all other meditation practices.

At the beginning of each session, brief instruction to the practice of Shamatha will be given.  After a one-hour session and a 10-minute break, there will be a teaching or question-and-answer period with participants.

6:30pm – 7:15pm — Shamatha meditation, with brief instruction
7:15pm – 8:00pm — Teachings and/or question and answer session
