Shamatha Meditation – PM
February 7, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Teacher: Lama Eric Triebelhorn
NOTE: Due to a teaching by the Dalai Lama this evening at 7:30pm, tonight’s shamatha session will consist of about 40 minutes of meditation and then 15 minutes or so of discussion, to allow everyone the possibility of partaking of this dharma offering.
A link to ZOOM will appear on this page 15-minutes prior to the start time.
The foundation of Buddhist meditation is Shamatha, a meditation that develops stable attention which serves as the essential underpinning of all other meditation practices.
At the beginning of each session, brief instruction to the practice of Shamatha will be given. After a one-hour session and a 10-minute break, there will be a teaching or question-and-answer period with participants.
6:30pm – 7:30pm — Shamatha meditation, with brief instruction
7:45pm – 8:30pm — Teachings and/or question and answer session
