This interactive workshop, led by Sallie Jiko Tisdale, explores our hopes, fears, and ideas about death and dying. Topics covered include what a ‘good death’ means, common experiences in the final months of life, care of the body, and the experience of being a caregiver for the dying.
Sallie Jiko Tisdale is a Zen Buddhist lay teacher, writer, and palliative care RN. Her acclaimed book, Advice for Future Corpses (and Those Who Love Them), was a New York Times Book Critics’ top pick in 2018. She is a palliative care RN and a certified End-of-Life Nursing Education Curriculum trainer. Tisdale is the senior Lay Dharma Teacher at Dharma Rain Zen Center in Oregon.”
The workshop is offered in-person and on Zoom. The scheduled is from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, including a 45-minute lunch break.
