New Year’s Retreat and Refuge Ceremony 2020/21
December 31, 2020, 7:00 am - January 1, 2021, 5:30 pm
Teacher: Lama Eric Triebelhorn
KCC has the tradition of holding a short retreat over the turning of the new year. This year the schedule is expanded a bit and we will incorporate the main practices that we engage in at the center. In the morning and early afternoon we will practice shamatha and the bodhicitta practices of loving kindness, compassion, and sending and taking. For the last session of the day, we will do Chenrezi and a short Tara practice.
At 11:00am on January 1st, there will be a refuge ceremony for anyone who has not taken refuge before. Taking refuge is the formal step of becoming Buddhist. If you have done so already in another tradition, you needn’t take refuge again. You do not have to participate in the retreat to take refuge. If you are interested in doing so, please contact Linda Grove with “Refuge” in the subject line to let her know.
This retreat will be a Zoom conference call. The link will be provided upon registration.
