KCC sangha member Patricia Delich and her husband Wayne Jiang, producers of the documentary film HEARTS OF THE DULCIMER, have generously offered to present a showing of their film and a folk music concert to benefit KCC. They will be joined in the concert by Joellen Lapidus, songwriter and one of the pioneers of contemporary fretted-dulcimer playing and construction. Joellen is featured in the film, along with luminaries Jean Ritchie, Joni Mitchell, Neal Hellman, and many others.
HEARTS OF THE DULCIMER is a feature-length documentary film about the mountain dulcimer boom in the 1970s on the West Coast and its lasting impact. Through colorful interviews, rare archival footage, and live performances, HEARTS OF THE DULCIMER gives a firsthand account of living life in the counterculture, following one’s passion, and playing and building mountain dulcimers.
