Green Tara Practice – Special Night
August 17, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
To attend a Green Tara practice session: use the Zoom button that appears below 15 minutes prior to each session (e.g., at 6:45pm on Tuesday).
Kyabje Bokar Rinpoche passed away on August 17, 2004. To mark the occasion at Bokar Rinpoche’s monastery in India they chant the Kagyu Gurtso, the Ocean of Songs of the Kagyu (translated into English as The Rain of Wisdom).
Tonight over Zoom we will chant Bokar Rinpoche’s Guru Yoga and Green Tara, which was a very important practice for Rinpoche. To conclude, we will chant one of Rinpoche’s songs of realization.
You needn’t be familiar with these practices to attend.
All are welcome!
The practice of Green Tara belongs to the vajrayana class of meditations. Tara is considered the embodiment of the activity of all the buddhas.
The practice text is chanted in Tibetan on first, third and fifth Tuesdays.
The text is chanted in English on second and fourth Tuesdays.
On the second Tuesdays of each month, the session runs from 7:00 – 8:30pm. On this night, Lama Eric guides participants through the practice and offers a period of question and discussion afterwards.
