Discovering Inner Peace: A fresh look at Shamatha in the Mahamudra Tradition
November 16, 5:30 pm - November 19, 9:00 am
Lama Sonam Dhargye from KDC in Eugene, will be leading a retreat on Shamatha in the Mahamudra Tradition at Ser Chö Ösel Ling Retreat Center near Goldendale, WA in person and via Zoom from November 16-19, 2023
Shamatha means to abide in peace. It is taught to be the gateway to true happiness and freedom. In this three day retreat, we will explore together the ancient and timeless ways to bring these Buddhist teachings to life. It may also spark new inspiration and warmth for the winter holidays ahead. As the late Venerable Bokar Rinpoche used to say in the Mahamudra seminars, there is no greater holiday or gift than this.
This retreat begins on Thursday evening, November 16, with dinner and an orientation. The retreat concludes on Sunday morning, November 19, after breakfast.
With Shamatha I will stabilize my mind.
For the mind that is slack and wandering is caught between
the fangs of the afflictive emotions.
Immerse conceptual thoughts in that bright stainless water!
