
Director’s Assistant Position Available – Work for KCC!
Dear Sangha,
KCC is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as an Assistant to the Managing Director. This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the activities of both our Portland center and rural retreat center (SCOL).

The primary focus of the role is to provide support to the Managing Director, in areas of communication, website management, event planning, and event logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
Communication Management:
- Update and edit KCC’s weekly newsletter via MailChimp, ensuring all content from staff and volunteers is accurate and engaging. Proofread and edit content before distribution.
- Regularly update KCC’s website with fresh content provided by staff and volunteers. This includes resizing images and proofreading written material before posting.
- Update the weekly Canva slideshow, incorporating information from staff and volunteers, ensuring it’s ready for sharing by Sunday.
- Assist in communicating event updates, schedule changes, and other critical information via email and the website.
- Review incoming emails and direct them to the appropriate KCC staff member or volunteer. Handle basic inquiries by responding directly.
Event Management:
- Support event logistics by ensuring staffing, volunteer needs, and other requirements are met for regular KCC practices and special events.
- Assist in setting up retreat registration forms, confirmation emails, and pre-retreat communications using the Retreat Guru platform.
- Provide Zoom meeting support by scheduling meetings and confirming that Zoom hosting duties are filled for staff and volunteers.
- Help maintain an organized and up-to-date KCC planning calendar, ensuring it aligns with the website calendar.
Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a keen eye for proofreading and ensuring consistency in dates, times, and content.
- Proficient with or eager to learn online platforms such as Zoom, MailChimp, Canva, WordPress, and Retreat Guru.
- A strong communicator, both in writing and verbally.
- Able to work independently and effectively manage multiple tasks.
- Passionate about the Dharma and dedicated to supporting the KCC community.
