Subscribe to Email List Servers

In addition to the website, KCC uses some email lists (also called "listservs") to communicate with sangha members.   The "announce" and "community" listservs are the main ones and are described below.

Official Announcements

Get up to date information on KCC events by subscribing to the KCC Announce email list server.   Receive official announcements concerning retreats, special dharma events, and other activities sponsored by KCC. Don't worry, we won't flood your inbox with a lot of email. And you can unsubscribe at any time.

Community Bulletin Board

Find out what's going on with other community members. Ask questions of other people in the community. Find someone to take care of your pet so you can go on retreat. Lots of things get talked about on this listserv. It is difficult to predict exactly how much or how little email you will receive. It depends on how active you and other community members are. And you can unsubscribe at any time.

About List Servers

After you subscribe to a KCC listserv, you will be sent a monthly reminder about how to look up old postings, change how you recieve the postings (one at a time or once a day), unsubscribe, and other things.   If you have a problem subscribing to a listserv, or have other questions about them, please send an email to "infokcc@kcc.org".

List servers, also known as "listservs", are like distribution lists. By sending an email to a list server, you are actually sending an email to each person who has subscribed to the list server.

Be mindful of how many people you are communicating with when using a listserv.  Re-read each email before you send it.   Email is usually text only and does not have the nuances of communicating with someone in person.   Assume what you say in an email is public, even if it is directed to only a few people.

When replying or forwarding an email from a listserv, please check the people addressed in the To: and CC: fields to make sure your email reaches only the people you intend to read it. Replies will go back only to the originator of the email sent to you. Use "Reply to All" if you want your response to go to the sender and everyone else subscribed to the listserv.

Read the policies governing your use of the KCC list servers.
