Zhinay, also called Shamatha in Sanskrit, or “calm abiding,” is a basic sitting meditation that develops stable attention and provides the basis for investigating more subtle aspects of awareness. It is the foundation of spiritual practice at KCC.

Join us for Sunday morning or Sunday evening Zhinay practice.  On the first Sunday of each month, when we gather for the month’s All-Day-Sit.  All are welcome to attend Sunday Zhinay practice.

  • 9:00am - 10:00am — Zhinay meditation, with brief instruction
  • 15 minute tea break
  • 10:15am - 11:00am — Teachings and/or question and answer session

*We also offer our Children’s Program Sunday mornings during the school year.

  • 6:30pm - 7:30pm — Zhinay meditation, with brief instruction
  • 15 minute tea break
  • 7:45m - 8:30pm — Teachings and/or question and answer session
