In June 2018, seven people emerged from a 3-year cloistered retreat at Ser Cho Osel Ling, KCC’s retreat center near Goldendale, Washington. The retreat was led by Lama Michael Conklin and Lama Tara (Janet Goforth.)
The retreat’s purpose was to allow time and space for the participants to immerse themselves in the study and practice of meditation techniques from the ancient Shangpa Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. In 2014, a 1-year retreat consisting of a different set of practices was also completed.
This retreat center was specifically designed to accommodate long retreats, although short retreats are also held on the site.
